This instrument, in addition to the reclaimed Fir used for the sound, features a bit of CA Coastal Live Oak as a peghead veneer. The wood was a gift from someone I met at a music festival. He gave me the wood in the hopes I could get some instruments out of it. I milled it up but sadly it wasn't really suitable. I did get some beautiful veneers for peg heads though.
